Whitemoss U13 boys Scottish Nationals champs gold medals

Whitemoss Amateur Athletics Club athlete Ross Morgan won double gold at the Scottish National Under 13 age group Championships after his great performances at the weekend.

Ross Morgan from Strathaven is a second year Under 13 athlete who trains regularly with Whitemoss AAC .

Last weekend Ross entered the Scottish competition held at the Emitates Arena in Glasgow. There the events he entered were the 60m hurdles, the shot putt and the 60m sprint.
Ross's great performance meant he won the hurdles Gold medal along with a new Pb of 9.64 secs in the hurdles down from 10secs.

He won Gold in the the Shot Putt too with a new pb of 8.33m up from 8.22m, again a great performance.

He then went on to run in the 60m and came 5th with a great PB time of 8.66 secs. In the final he ran 8.57. In an earlier heat both times were PB's for Ross his original PB being 8.83 secs.

Ross's coaches, Elizabeth and Simon are very proud of Ross and his achievements at the weekend.
They said "Watching him do so well yesterday makes all of the training during the cold wet nights at the track worthwhile!"
"Ross has worked really hard in all aspects of his training over the last few months and fully deserves the success he has had. He has the potential to do very well in athletics over the next few years and we wish him all the luck in future competitions."
