Ravenscraig Open Graded - Enter Now

Published by Craig Whyteside, Mar 21, 2016 @ 15:58pm

The Open Graded at Ravenscraig next week serves as a great opportunity for athletes to compete for the first time or to get a new personal best.

The style of an open grade competition means that athletes are matched with other athletes on ability rather than by age or gender. This mean that athletes who are competing for the first time or who have had limited experience are able to be competitive against others who are in the same position. It also means that those who are more experienced and have been training longer can be pushed hard by competing against others in different age groups.

Whitemoss AAC will be going to the open graded as a club and we would love to see lots and lots of athletes at the event. Though
we are going as a club, no points are scored, instead the focus is all about trying out new events, techniques, strategies and doing the best you can.

Everyone will be meeting at the John Wright Sport Centre prior to the event and leaving together. Transport is being arranged for athletes who can't get to the event so if your struggling, pass that on to one of our coaches and we'll sort that out for you.

The exact time we will be leaving and returning will be confirmed in the coming days but to give you an idea, we are likely to be leaving in the region of 5pm and returning around 9:30pm.

Please enter before the event to make things as smooth as possible for yourselves but know that entries can also be taken on the day.
