European Bronze medal for Holly McArthur

Late last night, Holly McArthur received a Euro Bronze medal for her run in the 4x400 heats of the European Junior Championships.

A couple of the girls in the relay squad wanted to be rested at the heat stage (in prep for their individual 400 races) and the team would have folded at that time, if Holly hadn't agreed to step in.

Having completed her Heptathlon the previous day, she ran the second fastest leg to anchor the GB team home in second place and secure qualification for the final. Fantastic effort on tired legs and an official split time of 54.92s

Holly then gave way in the final to the returning girls and they brought home the bronze! 6 medals are available to the team and Holly rightly receives a medal in recognition of her efforts in getting the team to the final.

This is the icing on a fantastic competition for Holly and great recognition for her; her training partners; coach; wider club; and her very supportive parents.
